Going Deeper Into The Default Apps
Sound advice here here in my opinion, from @patrickrhone
I have just taken on helping with a project that required accessing a number of websites in order to monitor registrations, payments, etc for an event early next year. While being tutored on how to use these pages via a screen share on a Zoom call, I noticed that my colleague was using a browser (I know not which one?) that had an interesting way of managing multiple tabs.
I decided to go searching for such a browser and settled on Zen Browser. I set up a system of tabs and folders, all visible at the same time, to enable me to move between the web pages as I needed them….and while helpful, clear and useful, it did not feel comfortable to my way of working.
After a few weeks I went back to Safari.
I was aware (most of the time 😒) of Tab Groups in Safari, but had never used them. Indeed I have not had a need to use, or so I thought. So I started setting up some Tab Groups with the web pages that I am working with, and it works perfectly for me. So much so that I now have some groups set up for personal use as well.
Zen browser has now been deleted from my laptop.
Obviously horse for courses, but for me how Safari handles multiple, grouped tabs works perfectly for me. No need to go searching elsewhere. I think that I probably need to do the same with other needs as they arise. To go looking into what is already on my computer before going looking elsewhere for third party solutions.
