On Taking Photographs
I can take a lot of photographs, probably more when I am on the move than when I am at home, but I notice that I have a tendency to do little with them. Occasionally I’ll go back and look through them, maybe edit one or two, but otherwise they just sit there.
What might I do with them? Thoughts that come to mind include,
- share them with family and friends.
- share them via my blog, either as just the photograph, or with the story behind the picture.
I enjoy messing about with my little iPhone 13 Mini camera. Of experimenting with framing images. Of playing around with colour and black and white. Of using filters and other editing tools.
Back in the day, a day set a few decades ago, I had a SLR camera with a couple of lenses. I got a lot out of that camera. I was no photographer, but enjoyed the creative outlet that the camera gave to me.
So no real conclusions here. Just ruminating out in the open as I look back on over two months in Europe, predominantly in Portugal. We are almost home and I am gazing through my photos from this trip…and before.
Perhaps it is simply the creative outlet that I appreciate?
